Alois Podhajsky

Every rider is expected to look upon his horse as a friend with a character of his own and who, according to his intelligence, has a right to be treated as an individual. The rider should never think that his horse is stupid - which unfortunately happens quite often - and try to degrade him as his slave. Slaves will never appear as proud and beautiful as it is desired a horse should be. It is the pleasure a horse takes in his work that makes him appear beautiful and gives brilliance to his movements.
