Volume 1: The basic training of young horses "The basic training of young horses is meant to establish a sound basis for the future training. The horse should get used to the rider's aids and to the rider's instructions that it is supple, in rhythm, engaged and straight."
Volume 2: Working towards elementary level "Following the basic training of approx. one year, the horse will be introduced to the exercises of elementary level. It is now five years old. Contact with the bit and suppleness will be improved, we teach the horse to adapt to the curb bit and train exercises at elementary level.
Volume 3: The training of the horse at elementary level "After the horse has reached elementary level, it is important to consolidate the skills learned. The individual exercises have to be accomplished safely, and the horse will mature and improve collection."
Volume 4: Working towards medium level "Between the fifth and sixth year, the dressage horse is started to be taught the basics of medium level exercises. We train the horse's suppleness on both sides with lateral movements. The horse learns the flying changes in the canter. Collection and impulsion are improved. The horse grows into this training level."
Volume 5: The training of the horse at medium level "If the horse is used to accomplish the medium level exercises, it starts to mature into this level. One year is necessary to sufficiently develop well-shaped muscles that lead to even more expressive movements with even more presence and self-confidence. The rider's aids are less obvious.
